The advent of volunteer cemeteries was a short-lived fad (and later outlawed in most parts of Garden.) Public opinion fell short when it was discovered the ratio of familial duty to recreational bodysnatching had been grossly underestimated.

While zombies aren't known for their fabulous conversation skills, there are many zombie novelists whose writings have graced the best-selling list time and again. Their favourite subjects seem to be cook books, legal discourse, and spy thrillers.

There is a secret cabal of like-minded individuals, driven and determined to control the course of events in Purple Village: they call themselves "Morning People." Any effort to subvert their actions has failed as no-one has been able to figure out when they meet.

The Dark Kinna Rises

Dentistry in Garden is aided by the mouth-numbing acaithesia berry, which is both highly-toxic and foul-tasting. Dentists call them the greatest boon to the practice since doorknobs and string. Click comic to enlarge.


I think it's safe to assume I enjoyed "The Dark Knight Rises." Although I felt that the Batman character himself took a back seat to the story, I only noticed that long after viewing. I was too enamoured with Joseph Gordon Levitt. I mean Anne Hathaway. Ahem.

This comic is just a fun diversion. "Bake Fear" will resume later this week.

Gourd

Mouse blooms are pleasant enough. That is, until they get into the walls.

As a regular purchaser of gourds and other bulbous and oddly-shaped vegetables, I am disappointed with the lack of toys, horns, and bad jokes I find when I crack them open. Click comic to enlarge.

Another classic redrawn! "Gourd," originally "Purple Gourd," marks the fourth time this comic has been redrawn. Pray this is the last time. I wasn't intending to redo this one, as it's a part of the Purple Soul: Volume 0 book -- which remains pretty much canon -- but as it ties directly into the story I figured, what's the harm?

24 Blackbirds

The Bird Mallet is an essential tool in any bakery.

Did you know that blackbirds aren't black? No, they actually come in a variety of colours, but the pressure of social expectations leads every last one of them to conform. Sad. Click comic to enlarge.

Grrravity! (or "Gravity!") was originally published back in 2009 on the old site. This has always been one of my favourites so I decided to update and redraw it for some promotional material I'll be printing next month. The reason you're seeing it here and now is because I've run out of my fancy strip-cut paper and I figured I should give you something.
